Wild Bill Jones
1. As I was walking around one day
I met up with a wild Bill Jones;
He was walking and talking with my Lula girl,
And I bade him to leave her alone.
2. He said, "My age is twenty-three,
Too old to be controlled."
I drew my pistol from my side
And destroyed that poor boy's soul.
3. He rocked, he realed, he staggered to the ground,
He gave one dying groan;
He cast his eyes on my Lula girl,
Saying, "Lula I've left you alone."
4. I've got one dollar in my pocket book,
And a forty-four in my hand;
So come along , boys, let's have a drink
While I have this money to spend.
5. Pasa around your only bottle
And we'll all get on a spree;
To-day was\the last of that wild Bill Jones
And to-morrow'll be the last of me.
6. My honey she wrote me a letter
Saying, "Darling, can't you make bail?"
I wrote her well another one
Saying, "Darling, I've done got bail."
7. My honey she wrote me another one
Saying, "Darling, what might your bail be?"
My woman she sent me a ten dollar bill
Saying, "Darling, come back home to me."
8. I got out of/jail this morning,
Pretty girls all standing 'round;
If I don't get my Lula girl
I'll always be rambling around.
9. I was on that old train when she broke\her reply,
I was on her when she whistled for you;
She went 'round the curve and strained every nerve,
This old engine's going to carry me away.
