 I’ll tell you a story

Of little Oma Wise – 

How she got deluded

In John Luises life.



He promised to meet her

At Adams big spring,

And bring her some money

And other fine things.



He brought her no money

To flatter the case.

Her people, they hunted,

They searched all around.

They could not find Oma

Below yon mill dam.



Her mama stepped forward,

And this I heard her say:

John Luis drowned little Oma,

And now has run away.



He has gone to Milwauke,

Or this I understand.

They have got him in prison

For killing a man.

With hand chain  bound..

He wrote his confession

And he sent it all around.
