This image shows Tom Kennedy, part of the Food Services staff, looking through a box on a bookshelf. Food Service employees worked at Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925. Welborn Hall served as the main cafeteria for Appalachian State since its opening in 1925. It was designed to service over a thousand students at any one time. Food was supplied by the meat, vegetable, and dairy produce from Appalachian State's two farms, as a means of saving money for the University until the early 1960s.
