Advanced Searching: Proximity Searching
Proximity searching allows you to search for a two-word phrase with optional words in between, as well as in specific fields. This allows a search of a specific phrase that might exist in collections but with additional terms that prevents exact phrase searching from locating it.
- Enter the first word of the search in the first box, the second term in the second box, and adjust the desired amount of words that could possibly exist between the phrase.
- Select the field in the drop box in which the terms are expected to appear.
- As with searching by Selected Fields, selecting a specific collection will limit the fields offered in the fields drop down menu. Not selecting a collection will simply search the selected fields in all collections.
