Searching The Collection: Series Category Searching
Browsing through 7,300 images can be daunting, and browsing by title is rarely efficient, so the Historical Photograph Collection includes thirteen searchable series or categories based on the image’s subject matter.
- Series 1 -- Campus and Buildings
- Series 2 -- Events
- Series 3 -- Presidents, Administrators, Benefactors, and Trustees
- Series 4 -- Faculty and Staff
- Series 5 -- Students, Student Organizations, Student Life
- Series 6 -- Colleges, Departments, Offices, and Centers
- Series 7 -- Athletics
- Series 8 -- Military
- Series 9 -- Performing Arts
- Series 10 -- Alumni
- Series 11 -- Local Area
- Series 12 -- Affiliated People, Places, and Events
- Series 13 -- Miscellaneous
To Search by Category:
- Go to the Advanced Search Options link at the top of any of the Digital Collections web pages.
- Go to the Selected Fields search box.
- Be sure to select the Appalachian State University Historical Photograph Collection in the bottom box. This field exists only for this collection and without selecting the collection first it will not appear in the drop-down box.
- Select Series in the dropdown box field box
- Click the Show Terms link to view available series, or enter at least one keyword from the available series titles.
